PROFILE/CONTACT DIANE
Today we live in hectic times when most of the materials and products we use are
mass produced. My interest in keeping the art of craftsmanship in book arts alive
has driven my desire to create objects by hand, using materials from nature, including
archival materials such as acid-free papers (many handmade), book cloth, boards,
and adhesives. I also use fabrics because they are so durable.
The emphasis is on handcrafted objects with unique character and quality workmanship.
Almost all of them are one-of-a-kind pieces.
Marbled papers and pastepapers are made by myself and other artisans such as Galen
Berry and Val Wells. I also use papers by Renato Crepaldi and Laura Beretti.
I studied with the Book Arts Roundtable of South Orange NJ and their teachers including
Barbara Mauriello, my mentor in combining art and craft. They all inspire me to
develop artful objects for personal use in the home, office, or as gifts as part
of the Slow Media Movement.
Items on this site will change regularly as they are one-of-a-kind. Feel free to
inquire about custom made objects. If a particular paper is still available I can
create additional pieces.
